San Jose Jr Sharks

The San Jose Jr. Sharks are excited to announce the acquisition of the Jr. Sharks new full time goalie coach Rick Cazares. Rick, originally born in San Jose, has an outstanding resume of playing and coaching experience. Prior to coaching, Rick played for NorCal Rep before the Jr. Sharks Tier 1 program existed, he moved to Chicago after the Rep team to play AAA hockey. He advanced his career to play in the NAHL and NCAA Division 1 hockey at Michigan Tech and Division 3 at SUNY Fredonia. After school, Rick began coaching, which includes working with SUNY Fredonia, Robert Morris University, The Chicago Mission, and The Chicago Bruins. Rick was also an assistant director for Midwest Goalie Schools professional development camp. Many of his students are currently playing NCAA and Professional hockey.

Coach Rick offers many different opportunities to our Jr. Shark goalies including practice visits, private lessons, off-ice workouts, and mental strength coaching.
