Girls 16U & 19U See Success in Wisconsin

Girls 16U & 19U See Success in Wisconsin

This past weekend the Jr Sharks Girls 16U and 19U teams attended the 2017 CAN/AM Challenge Cup Tournament in Madison, Wisconsin. Both teams had a very strong showing over the weekend.

The 16U team finished first after round robin play where they went undefeated with a 4-0 record and outscored their opponents 17-2. The team fell just short during the championship game, taking home the Silver Medal.

The 19U team went into the tournament with confidence after going undefeated, 6-0 in its home-hosted MLK Girls/Women's Tournament in January. In Wisconsin they completed the weekend with a 5-1 record and outscored their opponents 20-4. The girls won the championship game in decisive fashion beating the Omaha Lady Jr Lancers 6-1, ultimately taking home the Gold Medal for the 2017 Challenge Cup.

Jr. Sharks NOW Accepting Coaching Applications

The San Jose Jr. Sharks are NOW Accepting Coaching Applications for the 2017-18 Season. The Jr. Sharks are constantly striving to be better and that starts with our coaches and coaching staffs. 

The Jr. Sharks are looking for coaches at ALL levels. Boys AAA, Boys AA, Boys Travel and Girls.

If you are interested in coaching with the Jr. Sharks, please fill out a Coaching Application and send to Mike Janda, In the email, please clarify which teams you are interested in coaching for the 2017-18 season. For application and coaching expectations, please visit here.

The San Jose Jr. Sharks 13AAA team are STATE CHAMPIONS!

The Jr. Sharks defeated the Anaheim Jr. Ducks in Triple overtime on Sunday morning to earn the first 13AAA State Championship in club history. Sean Mentzer scored the game winning goal on a rebound shot from Max Abene. Jackson Baker was strong in net, anchoring a strong defensive core. The defense was led by Wes Turner, who scored the 2nd goal of the game for the Jr. Sharks, Trenton Jiang, Oisin Grebe, Sean McDonald, Andrew Ralston and Joe Sweeney. Goalie Da'An Ngyuen-Vo helped get the Sharks to the finals by winning two round robin games over the San Diego Jr. Gulls.

The first goal of the game was scored by Nick Cantor. Antonio Fernandez, Elliot Chung, Reese Laubach, Carter Hathaway, Chase LaRiviere and Nathan Pan were strong in both ends of the ice helping keep a good Jr. Ducks team to 2 goals.

Congratulations to Coach Tyler Shaffar, Coach Novakovich, all the players and their families!
