The San Jose Jr. Sharks are excited to announce their first signing of the season!

Forward Niko Jovanovic has signed a letter of intent with the Spruce Grove Saints of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL).

Spruce Grove finished the 2019-20 season with a 43-13-2 record, good for second in the AJHL North Division. Spruce Grove is one of the most solidified programs in the AJHL with a tradition of advancing players. This year they had 8 NCAA Division Commitments.

Jovanovic was second on the 18AAA teams in goals and assists and led the team in hits. The 6'3 forward was a key contributor on the 18AAA team this season, helping them capture 3 Championships. Jovanovic came to the Jr. Sharks from British Columbia 3 seasons and has seen his development progress rapidly. The big power forward looks to make an impact in Spruce Grove from day 1 with his physical play and heavy shot.

Congratulations to Niko and the entire Jovanovic family!
