The San Jose Jr. Sharks 2003 AAA Team is the 2019 15AAA California State Champion! The team traveled to Irvine, CA last weekend to play the 15AAA Jr. Kings in a 3-game series to determine the 2019 15AAA State Champion. The Jr. Sharks won the first game of the series on Friday night, 5-4, getting a late 3rd period goal to secure the win. On Saturday, the Sharks dropped a 4-2 contest to force a game 3 on Sunday morning.

Sunday morning saw a tight checking, defensive battle as the Sharks battled to a 1-0 win. Reese Laubach had the lone goal of the game, exploding the goalies water bottle off the net with a great shot. Matt Malin had the shutout in net, leading his squad to the Championship!

Congratulations to all the players and their parents! Up next, the 15AAA team will compete in the Tier 1 Elite League Playoffs this weekend, followed by the Pacific District Championship in March. The winner of the Pacific District tournament will earn a bid to Nationals in April, in Michigan!
