San Jose Jr Sharks

The San Jose Jr. Sharks Squirt A (2005) and 16A teams are STATE CHAMPIONS!

The Squirt A team, who is led by coach Sal Barranco, finished 1st in NorCal and won the NorCal Championships prior to the CAHA State Championships. During the State Championships, which were held at Sharks Ice, the Squirt A team went 1-1-1 in round robin. They opened the tournament with an overtime loss to the Jr. Ice Dogs. Later that day, they lost to the Jr. Ducks 8-3. On Saturday, the Jr. Sharks beat Stockton 4-1 and earned a birth in the Championship against the Jr. Ducks.

In the Championship game, the Jr. Sharks avenged their round robin loss to Jr. Ducks by defeating them 6-4 in a high paced, high scoring game. 

The 16A team, led by Tyler Gloski, had a different route to the Championship game, going 3-0 in round robin. They opened the tournament with a 6-5 over the Fresno Jr. Monsters. The following day they picked up 2 more wins, 4-1 over the Cupertino Cougars and 6-5 over the Vacaville Jets in overtime. The Jr. Sharks earned a birth in the Championship game with the Jr. Monsters.

For the second straight year the 16A team had a date in the Championship game. The Jr. Sharks avenged their 2-1 loss the season prior and rolled to a 6-1 win over the Jr. Monsters.
