Three Former Jr Sharks Participating Over The Weekend

The San Jose Jr Sharks are well represented this weekend in the NCAA Division I Men’s Ice Hockey Tournament with three former Jr Sharks competing in the event.  The list of alumni includes Ben Paulides (University of Miami of Ohio), Soren Jonzzen (Quinnipiac) and Max Vallis (Michigan Tech.) The tournament field also includes Rochester Institute of Technology, the alma mater of Player Development Coordinator and Jr Sharks coach, Mike Janda.

Paulides and the Redhawks will face off against Providence in the first round on Saturday at 3:30 pm on ESPNU. Jonzzen and the Bobcats will play North Dakota in the first round on Friday at 5 pm on ESPNU. Vallis and the Huskies will play St Cloud State in the first round on Friday at 1:30 pm on ESPN3. Finally, the RIT Tigers will face off against Minnesota State-Mankato on Saturday at 1 pm on ESPNU. The NCAA Tournament is a single game elimination tournament where the winners advance to the next round. The Frozen Four will take place April 9th and 11th at the TD Garden in Boston, MA.

Good luck to Ben, Soren and Max this weekend and way to make the Jr Sharks proud!

The Jr Sharks would also like to recognize three other alumni currently playing Division I NCAA hockey who had good seasons of their own. Ryan Doucet (Air Force), Chris Buchanan (Bentley) and Dan Senkbeil (Vermont) all enjoyed success during the 2014-15 season.

The Jr. Sharks also had over ten alumni competing at the NCAA Division III level this season and many others playing ACHA college hockey.
