The San Jose Jr Sharks are proud to announce that 18AAA player Ryan Meure has tendered with the Kenai River Brown Bears of the North American Hockey League (NAHL).
The Jr Sharks 18AAA team is a member of the NAPHL, which is a partnering league of the NAHL. This season, Meure has 12 goals and 4 assists for 16 points in 19 NAPHL games. His 12 goals is tied for sixth best in the league. Last season, Meure tendered with Kenai River as well but chose to stay home and finish high school before leaving for the NAHL.
He appeared in two games earlier this season with Kenai River as an affiliate player and scored a goal on a nice breakaway move.
“Ryan has worked hard the past two seasons and had an opportunity to play games with Kenai this season. I think he learned a lot about the league and more about his ability to compete at that level. We are proud of Ryan and wish him the best as he takes the next step in his hockey career,” said Player Advancement Coordinator, Mike Janda.
Meure is currently in his seventh season with the Jr Sharks organization.
