Youngest Player On Buccaneer Roster

After a long training camp in Des Moines, Iowa, former Jr Shark, Zak Galambos, was offered a roster spot for the Des Moines Buccaneers of the USHL. Galambos, who spent last season with the Jr Sharks 18AAA, is one of only four '97 birth year players on the team and is the youngest player on the roster.

Through the first five games of the season, the Buccaneers have a 4-0-1 record. Galambos has dressed in three of the games registering a +1 rating.

"Playing for the Jr Sharks was an awesome experience. I met a lot of guys that I am happy to call family now. The coaching staff and the Jr Sharks program gave me the tools I needed to get to this level," said Galambos.

Galambos is one of five former Jr Sharks players from last season to move onto the junior hockey ranks this season.

"We are extremely proud of Zak and excited for his opportunity in Des Moines. He is a special talent and has a tremendous opportunity to learn from Dave Allison and Nate Weossner. It will be exciting to see his development and where he goes from Des Moines," said Mike Janda, Player Advancement Coordinator for the Jr Sharks.
