The San Jose Jr. Sharks are proud to announce that 18AAA goaltender Sean Tannenbaum has signed a contract to play with the Hampton Roads Jr. Whalers of the USPHL.
Tannenbaum, a '95 birth year, has played the last three seasons with the Jr. Sharks at the AAA level. As a Midget 16 player, he was selected to the NAPHL All-Second Team. In 2012-13, he helped lead the team to the Pacific District tournament and a runner-up finish in the CAHA State Championship.
The Hampton Roads Jr. Whalers compete in the USPHL Elite league's South Division and are located in Chesapeake, VA. Last season they finished in 3rd in the South Division.
"I am very happy for Sean. He has put in a lot of time and hard work to get to this next step in his hockey career. He has battled for the Jr. Sharks program for the last three years and we are happy to see him find a good home in Hampton," said Mike Janda, Jr. Sharks Player Advancement Coordinator.
Tannenbaum is the 7th Jr. Sharks player to make plans to play junior hockey next season joining Ryan Meure (NAHL), Zak Galambos (NAHL), Mick Nisbet (NAHL), Jonah Doucet (USPHL Elite), Malthe Helt (EHL) and Kevin Cole (MWJHL).
