The San Jose Jr. Sharks are proud to announce that former Jr. Sharks player Oliver Takacsi-Nagy ('95) has committed to play NCAA hockey for next season. Takacsi-Nagy will be attending Tufts University in Medford, MA.
Takacsi-Nagy most recently played 16AAA for the Jr. Sharks in the 2011-12 season, helping them to a 15-1-2 record in the NAPHL. Following his 16AAA season he left for the NAHL, where he played the last two seasons for the Springfield Jr. Blues. In two years, he tallied 7 goals and 9 assists in 91 games.
Tufts University is a Division III school that competes in NESCAC. The NESCAC is considered by most to be the Ivy League of Division III schools. Former Jr. Sharks Goaltender Ryan Kellenberg currently plays at Tufts and former Jr. Shark Doug Wilson Jr. is an alumnus.
The Jr Sharks would like to congratulate Oliver and his family on his accomplishments and wish him the best of luck in the next step of his hockey career.
