Sophomore Standout Receives Seventh Player Award

The Jr Sharks are excited to announce that alumna Lexi Romanchuk has been named an alternate captain for the Providence College Friars' Womens Hockey Team for the 2014-15 season. She was also one of seven players to earn an award for their performance this past season.

Lexi, a sophomore majoring in Business Economics, was a runner-up for the team's academic award with a 3.63 GPA. Additionally, she was awarded the team's Seventh Player Award. The Seventh Player Awardee is recognized by her teammates as the player who performed above and beyond expectations throughout the season. The Seventh Player contributes heavily to the overall success of the team, yet did not receive the recognition she deserves.

Romanchuk led the Friars' defensive core in scoring with a career-best 17 points on four goals and 13 assists. She notched the overtime game-winning goal against RPI on January 5th to cap off a three-point performance. For her efforts against RPI, she was named Hockey East Player of the Week.

The Jr Sharks would like to congratulate Lexi on her hard work and her impressive achievements!
