Former Jr. Shark Chris Buchanan Commits to Bentley University

From Mini-Mite House League To NCAA Division I

The San Jose Jr. Sharks are proud to announce that Jr. Sharks alumnus Chris Buchanan has committed to play NCAA Division I Hockey at Bentley University.

Chris, a 1994 birth year player, began his hockey career in the Jr Sharks House League as a Mini-Mite and played all the way through with the program until 18AAA. He helped the Jr. Sharks 18AAA team win a state championship in 2010-11 and earn a berth in the Pacific District Championship. Chris, who is currently the Assistant Captain for the Fargo Force in the USHL, played his first year of junior hockey for the Alaska Avalanche in the NAHL. After a year in Alaska, he earned a spot on the Fargo Force in the USHL, where he has been playing the past two seasons.

"It's always been a dream of mine to play D1 hockey. The Jr. Sharks organization helped me prepare for the jr level which helped me prepare to get to the next step. Thank you to all my coaches, friends, and family who have helped me along the way," said Buchanan

Bentley University is a Division I program located in Waltham, MA. Bentley competes in the Atlantic Hockey Association against programs such as Air Force, Army, RIT, Niagara and Holy Cross. Bentley finished second in the AHA in the 2013-14 season with a 16-7-4 conference record. The program also recorded non-conference wins again the University of Nebraska Omaha and Boston University.
