Dix gets selected by Moose Jaw, seventh American selected in draft

Junior Sharks Defenseman Dylan Dix was drafted in the 6th round of the 2013 Western Hockey League (WHL) Draft by the Moose Jaw Warriors. Dylan was the third  American Defenseman selected as well as the 7th overall American player.

The Western Hockey League is a Major Junior Hockey league based in Western Canada and the Northwestern United States. The WHL is one of three leagues that constitute the Canadian Hockey League  (CHL) as the highest level of junior hockey in Canada.

The WHL draft included all of the top 98 birthyear prospects in Western Canada and Western United States.

The Junior Sharks  currently have alumni Michael Mylchreest playing in Prince George, and have had past draft picks such as Chris Buchanan and Nick Anderson drafted in the first 8 rounds of the WHL draft.

Congratulations to Dylan and his family on this great achievement.
