Former Junior Sharks Player, Matt Tennyson, made his NHL debut April 1st against Vancouver becoming the first player developed by the San Jose Jr. Sharks program to play in the NHL.
Tennyson completed his Junior Sharks career with the 16AAA team before heading to the NAHL Texas Tornado. From there, Tennyson played for the Cedar Rapids Roughriders of the USHL before committing to the NCAA Division 1 Western Michigan University Broncos. Tennyson signed an entry level contract in the summer, and played in the Sharks AHL affiliate in Worcester prior to being called up.
Tennyson registered his first NHL point with an assist.
