4 Drafted in NAHL Draft

The successful 2020 Spring and Summer continues for the San Jose Jr. Sharks.

 

The Jr. Sharks had the most players drafted in the NAHL Draft in club history on July 21st. The NAHL Draft is typically held in the spring but due to COVID-19, the draft date was pushed back to late summer.

 

18AAA Defensemen Deven Boldway was the first Jr. Shark drafted, being selected by the Expansion Wichita Falls Warriors. Boldway, who was a captain on the 18AAA Pacific Division Champion Jr. Sharks team, was selected 1st overall in the 3rd round.

 

The next Jr. Shark drafted was 18AAA Forward Owen Bohn. Bohn was selected by the Amarillo Bulls in the 5th Round. The Bulls compete in the NAHL South Division and are considered a power house in the NAHL.

 

Jr. Shark Alum Tyler Blanchard was selected by the Lone Star Brahmas in the 6th round. Blanchard has spent the last 2 years in the NA3HL, scoring 125 points in 83 games.

 

The final Sharks selected was 16AAA Assistant Captain Joe Sweeney. The big defensemen was selected in the 8th round by the Corpus Christi Ice Rays. Corpus Christi's current bench boss is former Jr. Sharks 18AAA Coach Nate Weossner.
