Practices will focus on individual skill development, consisting of drills that will improve the players skating, passing, shooting, and puck-handling skills. Players will learn the proper techniques for the different skills needed to play ice hockey. For games, a mix of full ice and small area games will be used. In the full ice games, players will have the chance to learn team concepts and positional tactics. During the small area games, players will be forced to make quicker decisions and make players in less space which will accelerate their individual skill development.
Players will be assigned to scrimmage squads and given a jersey for their respective squad. Please note that depending on attendance on any given game day, players may be temporarily swapped to the opposing scrimmage squad for the purpose of balanced teams.
