Dear team Managers,

I'm Donna Butt, your Jr Sharks Game Scheduler.

I coordinate the scheduling of referees and scorekeepers for games where we own the ice. I also serve as the conduit between the Norcal scheduler and the Club.

I want to take this opportunity to recap what you may have already learned at the manager's meeting. This information is also be available on the Team Manager's page on the Jr Sharks website at http://www.sjjrsharks.com/teammanager

I know many of you are returning managers and are familiar with the process.

For those teams that play a Norcal schedule, I will inform you of games scheduled by the league in addition to those games being posted on the Norcal website at http://norcalyouthhockey.org/Schedules.php


Game Scheduling: 

For AAA Teams that play in the AAA CAHA League schedule, you will need to schedule your league games and any exhibition games  through me any time you will play on ice that we own (Solar 4 America Ice SJ, Fremont, etc). Note: This is separate then the mandatory CAHA Reporting for AAA teams.

For AA/A/BB/B teams since your league schedule is determined by the leagues, you only  need to schedule  additional exhibition games through me any time you play on ice we own (Solar 4 America Ice SJ, Fremont, etc). Note: For AA teams this is in  addition for mandatory CAHA Reporting.

In short ANY Jr Sharks team wishing to play an exhibition game on ice we own must also schedule the game through me.

Bottom line is that the only official channel to get a game number and referees assigned to a game by Norcal and get scorekeepers assigned by the Club is to submit a game request to me. 

Tournaments: 

For A/BB/B you are also responsible for reporting games you play at any Tournaments. Please submit those game notifications to me. Prior to the tournament, you will need to email me your schedule so that it can be submitted to norcal scheduler. Any additional game (IE semi or final) can be submitted after the the event.

This process will create a game number for you which will allow you to upload the scoresheet as required.

For all A/BB/B games, it is necessary for the games to be on the Norcal website. For games that are part of the Norcal schedule, game results should be posted automatically via the on-site scoring systems at Norcal rinks. We do not need any results for tournament games.

AAA/AA only need to report tournament and extra games through the CAHA site, not me.

Ice for games:

Before scheduling a game, you first need to get an ice slot from Robert Savoie.If you have your own non-shared practice slot you can use that as well. Once you have that, you send me all the details of your game so that I can get the Norcal scheduler to assign a game number and you will get refs and a scorekeeper.

Once you have an ice slot, send me the following information at jrsharksscheduler67@gmail.com

- Date of the game
- Day of the game
- Time of the game
- Length of the ice slot
- Type of game (Exhibition, Tournament, etc)
- Away team 
- Home Team 
- Rink where you have the ice slot

Remember, please only make requests when you are the home team that owns
the ice or you are reporting tournament/exhibition/other games played away
from Norcal.

The preferred format for requesting games looks like this:

For local tournaments and official CAHA game weekends, the
tournament/league coordinators will typically be responsible for obtaining
refs and providing Norcal with the schedule for the tournament. San Jose Thanksgiving Silversticks Tournament in San Jose is already reported directly to the league.

Teams still have a responsibility to submit their scoresheets on the norcal website for A/BB/B teams and CAHA website for AAA/AA.
