2011 Holiday High School Showdown - USAH Sanction V-17-11

Sharks Ice and the San Jose Jr Sharks invite you our first ever Holiday High School Showdown. Come spend the week before Christmas in beautiful San Jose, California. Our goal is to provide a great tournament experience plus great competition at all our age divisions and levels. Teams are guaranteed 4 games plus a possible championship game.

Applications, Payments, Team Registration, Roster Submissions etc. are all to be done online. Please follow the Time-Line on the right side of this page to apply. The Online Application is below under Registration.

Teams:   

4-8 teams per division (32 team limit, so register early)

Divisions:

  • Varsity Platinum - Pure or School Sponsored Teams that follow NCHSHL Bylaws (click HERE)
  • Varsity Open - AAA Players and below are all welcome - Team must be made up of only players from the same school district.
  • Junior Varsity Gold - NO AAA or AA Players. Team must be made up of only players from the same school district.
  • Junior Varsity Silver - No Travel/Tier level Players. No school district restrictions.
  • Tournament Director reserves the right to determine the final acceptance and placement of teams.

Host Hotels  

Sharks Ice at San Jose proudly partners with Team San Jose's Housing Group to broker discounted rates at some of he best San Jose area hotels. These rates can only be obtained by using the online system (preferred) or by phoning, faxing, or mailing the appropriate reservation form to Team San Jose.

Please note: the 2011 Winter Classic Tournament is a MANDATORY STAY at HOST HOTELS for all teams outside the Bay Area.

You must make your reservation through the Team San Jose Housing. You must also make sure to enter your Team Name in the "Company Field" part of the reservation form.
Team Manager's Check-in:  

One (1.0) Hour before your Team's First Game.

Must Sign-in, submit Team's USA Hockey Roster, Hotel Information, Sharks Ice Waiver Packet and any updates to the Manager's and Head Coach's Contact Information.

Sharks Ice Waivers

Sharks Ice Waivers are required for all players, coaches, and managers, even though your team may have previously signed the waivers for the 2011-12 season. Please prepare a new waiver for each coach, manager, and player. Indicate "2011 Holiday HS Showdown" as the event. Go to link in "Registration" to download the Waiver form.


Time-To-Score (TTS)

We have a Real Time Online Game Scoring System, called Time-To-Score (TTS), which was developed at Sharks Ice. You can follow action by clicking on the Game Number once the game has started. The game results are updated at each stoppage. You can also download the scoresheet for printing at the end of the game. The entire schedule can be read by clicking on the "Holiday HS Showdown". Divisions schedules are available by clicking on the "Division Name", and so on.

Application

Applications must be made online through the link provided under Registration. Please Note: The Primary Contact should be the Team Manager, or the person that will be personally responsible for getting all the information submitted, getting the Sharks Ice Waivers signed by the parents/guardians, and following through with the credit card payment of the tournament fee. Deadline is Nov. 19, 2011.


Registration & Rosters

Once your application has been received, you will receive a token within 72 hours via email of your team's conditional acceptance at which time you will given directions on how to make your online credit card payment, continue with your registration, enter your roster. Please do this as early as possible. You can update your roster at anytime before the deadline. Final Rosters must be entered online by Dec. 9, 2011. Any incidental changes after Dec. 9, 2011 must be submitted by email to both the Tournament Director and Tournament Chair.

Note: Payment link will be available starting Sep. 15, 2011. Deadline for payment is Dec 1, 2011. 
Tournament Fees to be paid to Sharks Ice by Credit Card. Teams will be on Conditional Status until the fee has been processed by Sharks Ice. Any questions regarding payments are to be directed to Matt Adams, Tournament Director, madams@sharksice.com.
