2011 MLK Invitational Girls'/Women's Hockey Tournament
For the eighth year, the San Jose Jr. Sharks Girls/Women's Hockey Club invites you to a weekend of top-notch competition. Teams from all over the USA and Canada have participated in this fun filled tournament in the past years. Teams are guaranteed 4 games plus a possible championship game.
Date: January 14*, 15, 16 & 17, 2011 *(A limited number of games will start on Friday after 7:00pm)
Location: Sharks Ice at San Jose is the official practice facility of the NHL's San Jose Sharks. The complex, located at 1500 S. 10th Street in San Jose, is the largest hockey facility in the western United States, featuring 4 NHL- sized rinks with a restaurant/bar overlooking 3 of the rinks.
Sanction Number: USA Hockey sanctioned tournament. Sanction number: V-5-10
Teams: 4 to 8 teams per division (42 team limit, so register early)
Women's- Senior B, C, & D (18 & over)
Girls' AAA (Tier I), AA (Tier II), & A
Ages: 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, 17U, 20U
8U - 2002 & later
10U - 2000 & later
12U - 1998 & later
14U - 1996 & later
17U - 1993 & later
20U - 1990 & later
Online Team Application: We are in process of upgrading our Jr. Sharks website and as such do not have our Tournament Module activated. We would ask teams that want to enter our 2011 MLK Tournament to download the Information and Application document and email it back to Sheela as instructed. NOTE: We have made a few changes in the schedule during this past week to accommodate the NHL team practice priorities at Sharks Ice. PLEASE check your schedule (using the above link) BEFORE the tournament starts.
We have a Real Time Online Game Scoring System, called Time-To-Score (TTS), which was developed at Sharks Ice. You can follow action by clicking on the Game Number once the game has started. The game results are updated at each stoppage. You can also download the scoresheet for printing at the end of the game.
The entire schedule can be read by clicking on the "MLK". Division schedule is available by clicking on the "Division Name", and so on.
