The San Jose Jr. Sharks are proud to announce that current member of the Girls 19U team, Olivia Wilburn has committed to the State University of New York at Cortland where she will be playing hockey and majoring in Physics. SUNY Cortland is an NCAA Division III school in Cortland, NY that competes in the ECAC West conference.
Olivia is currently playing in her 5th season with the Jr. Sharks. She attends Stockton Collegiate International School in Stockton, CA and maintains a 4.60 GPA.
"It is nice to see how far Olivia has come as a student athlete. The time and commitment that she has put into hockey over the years has paid off. I am happy that she was able to attend a school of choice, and wish her the best of luck in her future college hockey endeavors." Said Coach Bobby Long

3 San Jose Jr. Sharks Team Captured NorCal Championships last weekend.
Despite being the #4 seed entering the playoffs, the Bantam A team picked up an exciting 2-1 overtime win against Redwood City to win the Championship. To move into the Championship the Bantam A defeated Tri-Valley 5-1 in the Semi-Finals on Saturday night, a team they hadn't beaten all season.
The Squirt A1 (2006) team won the Championship in convincing fashion, beating the Jr. Sharks Squirt A2 team, 12-1. The Squirt A1 team finished their NorCal schedule a perfect 20-0, 15-0 in the regular season and 5-0 in the playoffs.
The Squirt BB1 (2007) team won the championship over Santa Rosa, 5-2. The Squirt BB1 team also finished the season with a perfect record, 21-0. The finished the regular season 16-0 and the playofffs 5-0.
All 3 Championship teams will represent NorCal at the CAHA State Championships April 31-2 in San Jose. Joining the 3 Championship teams at CAHA will be the Squirt A2 team and the Girls 12U-1 team, both of whom lost the NorCal Championships and will enter CAHA as the #2 NorCal Team.
The State Championships consist of 4 teams at each age level. The first and second place teams from NorCal and SoCal make up the 4 teams.

The San Jose Jr. Sharks are excited to host 2 junior tryout camps this spring.
The Wenatchee Wild (BCHL) and Odessa Jackalopes (NAHL) will both bring tryout camps to San Jose.
The Wild will be holding a tryout camp from April 21-13. The Wild play in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) and led the league with the best regular season record. Former Jr. Sharks Devin Cooley and Tyler Rockwell currently play for the Wild. Eric Pinksy also played games with the Wild this year before injuring his wrist.
The Jackalopes will be holding a camp in San Jose from June 1-3. The Jackalopes play in the North American Hockey League and play in the South Division. Jr. Sharks alumnus Ryan Doucet (picture below), served as a captain with the Jackalopes.
