Spring and Summer Info

Bay Area Jr. Seals

The Jr. Sharks and Sharks Ice at San Jose annually run the Bay Area Jr. Seals AAA spring program. The Jr. Seals are an extension of the AAA season for our players. The Jr. Seals offer 13-15 hours of practice ice and 1 tournament. The Jr. Seals are an extension of the Jr. Sharks AAA season for players who are looking for more development time and preparation for AAA tryouts in May.

The Bay Area Jr. Seals are an invite only team. Jr. Sharks AAA players are given first right of refusal. After Jr. Sharks players have secured spots on the team, it is at the discretion of the coach to invite players. In the past, the Jr. Seals have participated in tournaments in Chicago and Vancouver.

The Registration "Spring and Summer Info" is not currently available.

Jr. Sharks Spring Philosophy

The San Jose Jr. Sharks annually offer two spring programs for players who are interested in getting more development time.

As an organization, the Jr. Sharks believe the spring and summer should be used to develop individual skills through practices. Hockey players tend to be late developing athletes and most development happens during practices. Therefore, the Jr. Sharks are dedicated to high intense, skill based practices for our spring teams.

Despite what has been said about exposure and international tournaments during the spring time. Players get very, very limited exposure during the spring as junior teams are preparing for their upcoming camps and draft. The Jr. Sharks do not travel far during the spring because we are committed to exposure and promoting our players during the season. The spring is a time for practice, individual skill development and rest.
