So Much Good, Fun and Competition In Two Days!

The San Jose Jr Sharks 12A-1 team had a event packed weekend!

The excitement started on Saturday morning with a strong practice to get the legs going for the day. The players ran through a few drills to work on using the weak-side of the ice to open up play and push the tempo of the attack.

Later that Saturday night, the whole team attended San Jose Barracuda versus Bakersfield Condors game at SAP Center where everyone got their cool Pavelski/Braun bobble-heads! A few of the players got to also hang out in a suite donated (thank you Pro-Sweep!) to members of the JSHL Girls East 10U team.

The next day, an early Sunday morning, members of the team made a visit to the Ronald McDonald House at Stanford where Coach Scott Clark led the team with a volunteer event, donating many needed items to the house while teaching members of the team the wonderful things the Ronald McDonald House does for the community.

The team capped off the weekend a few hours later with a late Sunday morning tilt against the Jr Sharks 12A-3 team. Before the game, the team took a photo opportunity with a local decided troop who was attending the game as part of getting their sportsmanship badge. The meeting was extra special being that the Captain and two of the Alternate Captains for the Jr Sharks 12A-1 team are female. The Girl Scouts made sure to a take special photo with these young Jr Sharks girls in leadership positions on their hockey team. What a great example for other girls of all ages!

Now in the game, the older 12A-1 team go up 1-0 early in the match with a Jack Donovan goal, holding off the buzzing 07's for a period. But in the middle of the second, the younger brother Jr Sharks notched two goals to get a 2-1 lead through late in the 3rd period. With just 1:38 left in the game, the 12A-1 teams ties it up at two apiece. Then 48 seconds later, with 49.8 left in the game, Donovan comes through in the clutch again with the game winner to put the 12A-1 team up 3-2, which was the final score. What an exciting all Jr Sharks match!

And what a busy weekend for the Jr Sharks 12A-1 team!
