This past weekend, the Jr. Sharks 16AAA National Team visited Jr. Sharks alumni Dave Radke at Colorado College.
Following a Tier 1 Elite League event held in Monument, Colorado at CSC and the Air Force Academy, the team spent Sunday afternoon touring the Colorado College ice rink, locker room, lounge and workout facilities. The team was fortunate to play 2 of their showcase games at the United States Air Force Acadmey's Cadet Arena.
Former Jr. Shark, Dave Radke ('94), will be a freshman this year at Colorado College. Radke spent 2 hours showing the aspiring student-athletes around the CC campus, showing and telling them what it takes to get to the NCAA Division 1 level. Radke played for the Jr. Sharks 18AAA team 2011-12, before joining the Soo Thunderbirds in the NOJHL. Radke spent 3 years in the Soo, having a couple stops in the NAHL but ultimately being found in the NOJHL.
"It was fun for me to give back to the program. I had a great time showing these guys around the campus and the rink. I was fortunate to get this opportunity and any chance I get to give back to the Jr. Sharks is special for me. Coach Janda did a lot for me when I left for junior hockey and I was excited to be able to help him and meet his team," said Radke.
Colorado College begins their season this weekend against the University of Calgary in an exhibition game.
