Helt and Doucet Make Junior Hockey Plans

Two More Jr Sharks Are Moving On

The San Jose Jr Sharks are proud to announce that 18AAA players Malthe Helt and Jonah Doucet have signed contracts to play junior hockey next season.

Malthe Helt has signed a contract with the Hartford Jr Wolfpack of the Eastern Hockey League. A '96 birth year player, Helt played 48 games this season for the Jr Sharks 18AAA team, finishing second in goal scoring with 13 goals and added 9 assists for 22 points. He was selected to represent the Jr Sharks in the NAPHL Top Prospects.

The Hartford Jr Wolfpack compete in the EHL. Former Jr Sharks Theo Tydingco and Dylan Vander Esch played for the Wolfpack last season which placed 15 players in NCAA programs for the upcoming season.

Jonah Doucet has signed a contract to play for the Palm Beach Hawks of the U.S. Premier Hockey League. A '95 birth year player, Doucet played 47 games for the Jr Sharks 18AAA team, finishing third in goal scoring with 12 goals and added 14 assists for 26 points.

The Palm Beach Hawks play in the USPHL. They finished second in the Elite South Division and have placed six players in NCAA programs for next season.

"Malthe and Jonah are two of the hardest working kids I have coached. Both kids have put in their time and work this season. I couldn't be more proud and happy for these two young men as they take the next step in their hockey career," said Nate Weossner, 18AAA Head Coach for 2013-14 season. Helt and Doucet are the 4th and 5th players from the Jr Sharks that have made plans to play junior hockey next season.
