When the San Jose Junior Sharks Bantam 1 team was declared an AA team instead of A, the boys knew they would face some tough competition this season. That was certainly the case in Vacaville this past weekend at the first Bantam CAHA weekend of the season.
The boys played well in their first game against the Jr. Ducks but the Ducks are a very strong team and ended up winning with a final score of 5 - 0. Next, the Jr. Sharks lined up against the Roseville Capital Thunder. This was the second time this season the Jr. Sharks have faced the Thunder and, in Vacaville, the scoresheet showed a loss of 9 - 2, but the goals scored by the Sharks were the direct result of plays they’ve been working on in practice and are a sign of more good things to come.
On Sunday, the Jr. Sharks went up against the Heat, and even though it is not reflected in the final score of 6 - 1, the Sharks played one of their best games of the season. The game was much closer than the final score reflects. By Sunday evening the team was definitely feeling the effects of the weekend as they started their final game against the Cougars, the team stepped it up in the second and third periods but it wasn’t enough and the final score was 5 - 0.
