Tier I & II Info

Tier I Teams are encouraged to start scheduling their CAHA games amongst each other for the season. CAHA games may commence and be played starting August 1 (and count towards the 300% requirement) only after teams have submitted their official roster and the game has been approved by the Tier Commissioner per CAHA Rule 9.6.

Your team webpage login information will be forthcoming. Your team webpage is where you will enter your team roster information, as well as schedule your exhibition/non-CAHA games.

Rosters - make sure you have submitted your team roster BEFORE ANY on-ice activity, be it a "work out" or "clinic" or practice or game or broom-ball or ice soccer, etc. etc. etc., per CAHA Rule 3.7.

Game Schedules - teams need to enter all their non-league games on their team page. CAHA will schedule all mutually agreed to Tier I league games, as well as all necessary Tier II CAHA Weekends.

New this season is that your league (NorCal and SCAHA) will be scheduling Tier II games for all the Tier II teams in your division, and CAHA weekend games will consist only of “North” v “South” teams. The league scheduled games WILL count towards your CAHA league standings in addition to any necessary CAHA Weekend games for Tier II teams. These “league” games as well as any non-league games that are scheduled prior to the game actually being played will count towards the 10/20 rule (CAHA Rule 9.10 for Tier I and Rule 10.10 for Tier II).

Tier I CAHA games must be scheduled a minimum 7-days in advance of the game being played, and must have prior approval from the Commissioner. Please note the format for Tier I games per the guidebook (CAHA Rule 9.6(b)) as Tier I games MUST following the requirements precisely. Tier II league game schedules and any necessary CAHA weekend game schedules will be posted after Sept. 15 and by Sept. 30.

Also, teams need to schedule your own refs and scorekeepers for all your games. The only exception is that CAHA will do this for the Tier II CAHA weekends, as well as any Tier II games your local league (NorCal or SCAHA) schedule for you.

Score Sheets - List players by last name ALPHA order. Also make sure to add which roster number your team is playing under for any given game. If you are playing an exhibition game via a Tournament roster, use the tournament roster number on that score sheet.

Game Summaries - make sure to upload your game stats and score sheets for ALL games on your team page with 48-hours of your last game of any weekend. The only exception is if you are the AWAY team for any “league” game, in which case the HOME team is responsible for the stats and the scoresheet, including the stats for the AWAY team in those games. If the last game was on a Sunday, stats and score sheets are due by Tuesday night. If the last game was a Monday, then they are due Wednesday night. Fines up to $50 per game/violation will be issued to teams that do not adhere to the deadline.

PRIOR to your teams first game, please check the suspension list on the CAHA website and see if any of your players or coaches have any carry-over suspensions from last season to be served.

It is required to report any Match Penalties within 24-hours to your applicable Commissioner, Youth Council Chair Laura Cahn (lauracahn@yahoo.com), and Disciplinary/Dispute Resolution Chairman Rosemary Voulelikas (dimivoul@pacbell.net).

A few specific reminders are as follows:

Rule 9.9 and Rule 10.7 Team Movement (CAHA Guidebook Page 42 and 45): Any Tier team that desires to drop down to a lower classification must notify the Youth Council by September 15.

Note all Game Misconducts (GM’s) must be served with the team the penalty was issued. The only exception is any player serving supplemental GM's under the USAH 411 rule.
